Impact device G has far greater impact energy than the standard impact device D - roughly 9 times as much.
Typical applications are Brinell-range heavy coarse grained castings and forgings, especially of steel and cast steel, cast iron (lamellar and nodular graphite), and cast aluminum.
In comparison to impact device D, impact device G requires less surface finish, but leaves a larger indentation.
