Videoscope Optical Tips

Every optical tip incorporates a distinctive lens system that alters the image, enabling a wide range of inspection capabilities. The standard optical tips offer various viewing angles and focus ranges, whereas the 3D Stereo and 3D Phase Measurement tips facilitate defect measurements using a comprehensive 3D point cloud of the entire surface.

It is essential that the proper optical tip has been selected. There are certain variables within each application that will help you to determine which tip is best for the inspection. The three main variables that must be determined when selecting an optical tip are listed in Figure 1. Each tip features a unique direction of view (DOV), depth of field (DOF) and field of view (FOV).
